BrackIt ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the BrackIt mobile application and website located at getbrackit.com (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Service.
Information You Provide Directly
Account information — When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name.
Tournament data — Tournament names, team names, scores, schedules, locations, and other information you enter while using the app.
Waitlist signups — If you join our waitlist at getbrackit.com, we collect your email address.
Information Collected Automatically
Usage data — We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized information about how you interact with the app, including features used, screens visited, and session duration. This helps us improve the Service.
Crash reports — We collect crash and error data automatically to identify and fix bugs.
Authentication data — When you sign in, Firebase Authentication processes your credentials securely. We do not store raw passwords.
Guest / Anonymous Usage
BrackIt offers a guest mode powered by Firebase Anonymous Authentication. When you use the app as a guest, a temporary anonymous account is created. No email or personal information is required. If you later create a full account, your guest data may be associated with your new account.

How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

Tournament Participants
When you share a tournament code with others, participants who join can view tournament details including team names, schedules, and standings. No personal account information (such as your email address) is shared with other participants.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process, such as a court order or government request.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and all associated tournaments, teams, and game data from our systems within a reasonable timeframe. Some residual data may remain in backups for a limited period before being purged.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including but not limited to:

Firestore security rules to ensure users can only access their own data
HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
Ownership verification on all write operations
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
Children's Privacy
BrackIt is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately at hello@getbrackit.com and we will promptly delete it.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
Access — You can view your account information within the app at any time.
Correction — You can update your display name and tournament data directly in the app.
Deletion — You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the Settings page in the app. This permanently removes your account, tournaments, teams, and game data.
Opt-out of emails — You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
Analytics opt-out — Firebase Analytics respects your device's privacy settings. You can limit ad tracking on your device through iOS or Android settings.

Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.
Push Notifications
In a future update, BrackIt Pro will offer push notifications for tournament updates and reschedule alerts. If and when this feature is enabled, we will collect your device's push notification token solely for the purpose of delivering notifications you have opted into. You can opt out of push notifications at any time through your device settings.
In-App Purchases
BrackIt offers a Pro subscription through in-app purchases processed by Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Payment transactions are handled entirely by Apple or Google and RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your payment card information. Please review Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies for information about how they handle payment data.
Cookies
Our website may use cookies to enhance your browsing experience and collect information about how you interact with our site. You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent, but some features of the site may not function properly without cookies.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
